Welcome to lcoc
Best of luck with the new bj I have one myself with the 3b and its a great engine! If you put a turbo on 3b it would be a better engine than the 1kz!

Welcome to the forum Jim.
1hd/1hz fits nicely into those heavy duty models.

thanks lads! nailer i am cosidering fitting one of the big engines also but it would have to be turbo and the 3 litre are tursty enough i can only imagine the 3.5 and 4.2's are absoulte sow's on diesal? i will be using the jeep mainly on the road pulling trailers so i dont want to be broke putting diesal into it!

Not as bad as you might think with a manual box. 1pz/2h/1hz/1hd can all achieve 30mpg in a land yacht. Probably slight better on fuel that a 1kz.

Welcome Jim. Getting 27 to 28 mpg without trailer, 19 mpg with trailer 1 tonne to 1.5 tonne loads with 13B-T.

i suppose that would be good enough considering the age of the engine and the weight of the jeep chassis ect..
