Hi there new member from Cork, site looks good!

I joined the Leinster4x4 site aswell but afaik you have to make a donation before you can post or view any of the threads and pics properly, not really a great way to attract new members imho. All the threads I tried to view came up backwards aswell:confused:

I haven't owned a 4x4 before or done any real offroading but I would like to pick up a Landcruiser 70 series or maybe even a Hilux for use as a daily driver and for a bit of offroading.

I'm a mechanic myself so kind of looking for something with a half decent body but needing some mechanical work.

Welcome to lcoc.

You can post on about 50% of the forums on L4x4, you can reverse the thread viewing options in your user cp.

Here is a good looking 70 on donedeal click here (http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/commercials/1775090).

Your better off with a 70 when it comes to going off road and power aswell. The 2.4 is a good engine once its been looked after and the 3.0 is brilliant.

Cheers Nailer!

Saw that one lastnight alright, theres another 89 here aswell http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/commercials/1717463

I like the fact that they have solid front axles, would many of them come with lockable diffs?

Do they come up very often, also what kid of money do they fetch?

There are some with rear lockers, Lj's are common enough, plent of them go for around €1500, Kzj are not as common and usually fetch 2k and up.
Heavy duty ones are rare but some of them come with front and rear difflocks.

Cheers Nailer, any more pics of your 70's?

Where do you pick up spares and accessories, is there anyone specialising ing 4x4's in Ireland or does everyone get their stuff from the UK?
