I sandblasted the whole jeep, took it apart, fitted a power steering from a 98 Cherokee jeep.got a couple brackets made to hold the pump of a h60 .all done apart the pipework, got 2 new bumpers made,i got door bottoms sent from cool cruisers from the US.got 2 floorpans from diebo-teile in Germany which look good but not fitted yet,i got 2 new quarter panels from chris in Carlow which are fitted and agood job which are for sale on done deal.i have a very good welder-fabricater doing all the bodywork, this mans extremely busy restoring escorts+rallycars for HASS in raphoe.i also bought some bits of DALI in Carlow who was also helpful;i got the chassis+bumpers+batterystands+airfilter housing+dieseltank+sum brackets powder coated black in fleming engineering in st. Johnson.that is a gud job,i noticed that my fabricater, bead rollers not wide enough to replicate the ridges on back floor.if anyone can help me with that I would appreciate it.i don't be on the computer a whole lot.i must try and put some photos of the work on this site.thanks chat later

Great work Pete keep it up. You can buy a back floor tub online. Here is the website:

rs pete, I'm delighted to hear your restoration is progressing.
Have you got any photos? Especially of the power steering conversion / steering box?

thanks all.i have some photos but im not the best on the computers.my wife will show me how to install them soon.thanks for the info about the rear bed but I got door bottoms sent from the US .by the time they reached me they cost 720 euros with shipping +government+custom charges,so I would rather micky fix them cause theyre not 2 bad or buy them from Europe without all these charges as im unemployed the last 4 years,i might also get new front fenders,i got new front+ rear indicaters from conor from dublin'thanks again fellas, ill try 2 get some photos soon for yous ok.

Go on to ih8mud.com and in the 40 series section do search for disc brakes on front axle or the like, you should find info on converting drum to disc brakes. I think the BJ 70's and Hilux use the same size brake caliper and pads.

thanks again for letting me know about the axles.i phoned the man about the axle .he was keeping it for me and a set of wheels of a hi-lux.that will be three sets of wheels that I have.i don't know what the jeep sounds like nwith the wide wheels on so thought id buy the hi-lux ones that aren't that wide.saying that it will be a while before im using them.if these hi-lux discs and hubs don't fit my bj ill be after your front axle.
