Just trying to get my lj78 1991 back on the road after 5 years . I got a new engine from ivi engines dublin 12. But I may need an Ecu as , the engine is revving high after a mechanic put a 12 v feed to the fuel value on the newly reconditioned fuel pump. Now another mechanic is saying he can't fix it without another ecu 89661-60111 . Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like its the efi engine. 12v to the pump is wrong if it is.
If its an efi engine it replaced the original ecu should be fine.
That ecu is for an automatic.

It is indeed the Efi engine. So now im looking for a replacement ecu for the automatic. There doesn't seem to be any on Internet I've asked toyota too and nothing on the shelves. Is there anyone selling one or know of lj78 1991 auto being broken up or surf ...

So im guessing your mechanic fed 12v back into the ecu and damaged it. These ecu's are hard to come by, might be worth trying an ecu repair specialist.

That sounds like it now as reported to me by a new mechanic...
From reading another thread on this site , I have seen Logic Automotive in rathcool maybe able to fix it ?
I feel so close to getting back on the road and ever piece of advice and help is appreciated.
