Hi all,

Just bought my first Landcruiser - 2006 GX, Auto, 8 Seater. Have had loads of Land Rovers over the years both good and bad and this is my first time with a non LR 4X4. I only got it yesterday but I am majorly impressed by the Landcruiser. It is a lot quieter and smoother than I expected so I am very happy with it so far as is the family. I'm sure I'll be asking loads of stupid questions on here so be warned.

Indeed I am from Youghal, got the car last Friday and its in getting serviced today. Bought privately so I knew it needed doing before I purchased. Did a bit of driving over the last few days and loving it, definitely the right decision to purchase.

Couple of questions, Stereo Upgrades - the standard stereo is shite - anyone on here upgraded theirs? If so what models are recommended. Also front spot lights, I have an A bar but no lights on it, any recommendations.

Thanks in advance
YB

I have fitted plenty of stereos, never in a 120, first thing you will need is an adapter

All seem to be double din

An ISO adapter, or you could cut and splice wiring

You can then fit a single din stereo and cubby box etc...

Or a double din stereo.

I usually would go for a Pioneer or Alpine unit, reliable and sound good.
Chances are you will need to change the speakers to get the best out of it.

Or you could be brave and try one or these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ETO-Toyota-Land-Cruiser-120-Series-Prado-Car-DVD-Radio-GPS-Nav-Multimedia-Stereo-/270944324446?pt=US_Video_In_Dash_Units_w_GPS&hash=item3f158a4b5e#ht_10220wt_1185

The look the business and are designed to fit the 120 as a direct replacement, even the steering wheel controls will still work with it.
They are made in china, could be great or could be crap
